The index is only as good as the evidence behind it.
Vendors: if we have you wrong, here is how to fix it — and we publish the correction with its reasoning, including when it moves you up. Firms: tell us what you are actually using, and it goes into the review queue ahead of whatever a vendor would prefer we looked at.
Challenge a score
Send the evidence, not the objection. Anything specific gets read the same week.
- Data documentation — DPA, subprocessor list, hosting regions, retention defaults, training position for the tier you sell.
- Product documentation — what the tool logs, what the user can export, how citations resolve, how permissions are enforced.
- Pricing — published tiers, renewal terms, and what the year-two number looks like.
- Your answers to the 24-question index questionnaire — we send it on request.
What does not move a score: a demo, a funding round, a customer logo wall, or a threat to complain about us. What does: a document we can cite.

The most useful nominations come from people who use the thing daily and have opinions about the file-note trail.
- What you use it for, and which practice group
- What it does well that the marketing does not mention
- What it does badly that the marketing hopes you will not notice
- Anything your IT or compliance team had to configure before it was allowed anywhere near client data
Attribution is optional. If you would rather we said "a 22-fee-earner firm in the South East", that is what we will say.
Nominate a tool01What happens after you write
| Step | Timeline | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Acknowledgement | 2 working days | A human reply confirming what we received and what we still need. |
| Review | 10 working days | A written decision: score held, score changed, or entry updated with the new evidence cited. |
| Publication | with the next index update | The correction or re-score, published with its reasoning and date. Silent edits do not happen here. |
| If we got it wrong | immediate | Correction published and, where relevant, an explicit note that our earlier entry was wrong. |
02Independence, restated
We take no money from vendors in this index — not for placement, not for reviews, not for "partnerships". We do separately sell governance and diligence services to AI companies, including the vendor diligence pack, and we disclose that plainly here because you should weigh it: buying a service from us does not buy a score, and several vendors we have worked with carry ordinary scores with published caveats. If you would rather not engage on that basis, do not — the method and the entries stand on their own.
03Vendors who decline to respond
The entry stays up with its documentation-based score and a line saying the vendor did not respond. That is not a punishment; it is information a buyer needs. Answers usually arrive after the first firm asks why the entry says that, which is a good outcome for everyone.
